If you are new to the area or anticipate living on or around Lake Lanier I would like to share Bobber the Water Safety Dog with you. Bobber the Water Safety Dog was created by a ranger with the Army Corps of Engineers! We can appreciate this due to our lake being operated and maintained by the Corps. This is a great site to share water safety with your children! Use the link below to visit Water Bowl Lake to learn all about water safety. The lake has several cartoons, coloring pages, and a game to get kids prepared and reinforces the safety message for a safe summer in the water! If you are an educator they also have a link for you to download the games to show the Bobber cartoons offline on a PC. Visit them at http://www.bobber.info/. You can even follow him on Pinterest! Have fun y’all! Copyright © 2013 ISR of Lake Lanier, LLC

When you are out on Lake Lanier it's a great idea for the adult who is driving the boat to give the kids a safety lesson before leaving the dock. He or she should make it a point to tell them that there can only be one captain, and it's important to follow his or her orders quickly and quietly. Here are a few basic rules to consider: - No running on deck. - No sitting on the side rails, foredeck, dashboard, sunpad or swim platform when the boat is under way. - Advise them to leave "one hand for themselves and one for the boat" by using grab-rails to steady themselves if the boat rocks. - Instruct children not to walk around while the boat is in motion. Have a great last few weeks on beautiful Lake Lanier y'all! Copyright © 2013 ISR of Lake Lanier, LLC |
